Featuring Dorith Steinberg and Ralph Jumbeck
With Music by Keith Hampton

Absolutely Art & Café Zoma are proud to present Dorith Steinberg and Ralph Jumbeck as our featured artists for August. Keith Hampton will provide the music, refreshments by Bunky’s Café and drinks for all during the opening reception!

Dorith Steinberg took up photography as a way to share the scenes she experienced in the US with her family in Israel. She likes to find abstract shapes in the very concrete colors and forms of reality. Dorith tries to captures the   essence of a place, a mood, or a light. She enjoys noticing hidden treasures in mundane scenes, and documenting magnificent views in glorious locations. She sometimes uses non-traditional photo capturing techniques and digital manipulations to communicate the heart and spirit of the scenes she photographs.

Ralph’s exhibition is a combination of acrylic, oil, watercolor paintings, mixed media and prints. The mixed media process takes many steps, always beginning with an original painting by Jumbeck. The painting is then taken out into natural settings to be photographed. Weather, especially wind conditions and terrain, are the challenges in this process. This mix of the abstract and real results in stunning and unusual effects. On some images additional painting and/or photography occurs at various stages and times of the year.
