A recent survey showed local Dane County businesses are providing a positive impact on the economy. Dane Buy Local, which was founded in 2004, conducted an economic impact study for 2011!

A recent survey showed local Dane County businesses are providing a positive impact on the economy. Dane Buy Local, which was founded in 2004, conducted an economic impact study for 2011.

According to Dane Buy Local member and spokesperson Kay-Tee Franke, the organization is comprised of more than 600 members. Its core focus is to create education and awareness on the importance of buying local.

“Since Dane Buy Local has grown so dramatically in the last couple of years, it’s now one of the top five for largest buy local groups in the country, which means other communities are looking to us for education, resources and leadership,” Franke said. This is why the group’s education committee was created at the beginning of the year to discover the impact Dane Buy Local has on southern Wisconsin, she explained.
