Local boat owners docked at Skipper Buds, offered a sea of support that helped Dane Buy Local and many of its members launch Madison's 1st Annual Dane Buy Local Venetian Night ~ A Boat Parade of Lights on Lake Mendota.

Led by the official Dane Buy Local boat, The Grand Mariner, nearly thirty additional decorated boats followed the shoreline of our magnificent Lake Mendota at dusk on September 6, 2009. The event and its theme: "What Local Business Floats Your Boat" was hailed a huge success! Scuttlebutt among Dane Buy Local includes plans for an even bigger event in 2010.
