HistoryCo-owner Bob Golden began working in the cooperative food industry when he first arrived in Madison. He was the first employee for Inter Community Co-op (ICC, later known as North Farms Co-op) and also helped manage Mifflin Street Co-op. Since its inception in October 1978, R.E. Golden Produce delivers the best available produce to you and your business.
Starting in 1985, Golden Produce has been located on Gilson Street, in the building once occupied by ICC. The larger building has allowed us to house an increased variety of food products. We have come a long way since first distributing cheeses and Nancy’s yogurt. We increased our transportation fleet that allows us to deliver six days a week. As the company has grown we are proud to be known as a family business in this neighborhood that gives personal attention to each and every account, regardless of size. |
