Products

We specialize in local and hard to find beers, wine and spirits. We also have local chocolates, cheeses, snacks, cigars and distinctive gifts and gift baskets. Our homebrewing section has been growing all the time. With the craft beer market exploding onto the scene we are constantly on the lookout for new and emerging local breweries that our clientele will appreciate and by doing so our inventory is ever changing. Along with sales we also try to educate customers on the nuances of our specialty products. Knowledge increases flavor! We host weekly wine and beer tastings, and the local Home Brew Club -"Sun Prairie Wort Hogs" conduct classes in the art of fermentation. Cannery Wine and Spirits – the Liquor Store for the discerning palate.

Philosophy

One of our favorite sayings are- "Buy Local, Eat Local, Be Local" "Support yourself: Several studies have shown that when you buy from an independent, locally owned business, rather than a nationally owned businesses, significantly more of your money is used to make purchases from other local businesses, service providers and farms -- continuing to strengthen the economic base of the community. Local businesses are owned by people who live in this community, are less likely to leave, and are more invested in the community’s future."

History

My husband Pat and I have lived in the downtown Sun Prairie neighborhood for over 20 years and always wished there could be a store located downtown that catered to the local flavors. In November of 2007 we opened our store and featured a large variety of local and hard to find craft beers along with unique wines and liquor. We also have local chocolates, cheeses, meats, snacks, cigars and distinctive gifts. In our second year we added homebrewing supplies and will be expanding that area in 2011.
