ProductsThe CobraHead is the closest thing you'll ever see to a universal garden tool. Its blade is like a "steel fingernail" at the end of your hand. It weeds, cultivates, scalps, edges, digs, furrows, plants, transplants, de-thatches, and harvests with ease. We produce only two products - our short - and long-handled garden tools, but we sell the concept of gardening and growing your own food. The nationwide interest in CobraHead tools has inspired us to create a blog with recipes, garden tips and stories of gardens that inspire us as well as our customers. Our website leads you to books, catalogs and resources you might not find anywhere else. But the key to it all is "the best tool in earth!" |

PhilosophyWhen Dane Buy Local says "Friendly Faces, Neighborhood Places", we know we fit the bill! Two of the four Valdes staff members of CobraHead are UW-Madison graduates. And while you'll see us as far afield as the Green Festivals in Chicago, Washington, D.C. and San Francisco, CobraHead also shows up frequently at gardening and green events and scores of stores in Dane County and the rest of Wisconsin. In fact, we like to think that the national reputation and distribution of our garden tools brings attention to its origins - right here! The development of CobraHead tools relied heavily on local businesses, people and expertise, and we continue to source local Wisconsin inputs whenever possible. |

HistoryNoel Valdes, the developer of CobraHead tools, is both a hobby gardener and an advocate of organic and sustainable gardening techniques and the virtues of growing your own food. If you read about him on the CobraHead website, www.cobrahead.com, you'll see that he's a believer in the potential of small spaces to grow large quantities of nutritious food... if one uses the right tools and techniques. His enthusiasm helped him make this business a family affair out of Cambridge, right on the border of Dane County. In a matter of just a few years, the Valdes family has built a nationwide business rooted firmly in the gardening and appropriate technology fields. |
