ProductsWe offer our constantly expanding collection of European wooden toys, baby toys, educational toys, lunch bags and modern children's furniture to urbane and discerning adults who want to expose the young children in their lives to non-character branded, quality toys that are designed to withstand generations of use. In addition to baby toys, we now offer a wonderful selection of baby gear, including strollers, high chairs, diaper bags and meal & bath time items. Recently we expanded our children's furniture collections to include modern cribs, tables, seating, beds & beddings and tons of playroom storage. We believe baby toys should be natural, safe, eco-friendly, non-violent and from manufacturers who provide safe and nurturing environments for their employees. We believe in fair, competitive pricing and strive for 100% customer satisfaction. |

HistoryThe idea for Oompa first took hold in 2003. Milanie Cleere, CEO, felt there was something unnatural about surrounding her then-infant daughter with so many disposable, character-branded toys. Most of these disposable toys were donated to charity, and the search for replacements was underway. Finding new toys that were well-designed and not covered with characters owned by publicly traded companies proved to be quite difficult. During a trip to Europe, a plethora of great toys were found! These toys were made of natural, beautiful materials and were objects that would survive for years! Knowing that other parents in the United States would also appreciate these high-quality toys pushed Oompa to fruition. The first version of the Oompa website was created in 2004. Inventory was housed in the garage, and family members generously donated evenings and weekends to get the business up and running. We believe that toys should not only be natural and well-made, but created in humane and safe working conditions by adults with absolutely no child-labor. Oompa goes to great lengths to ensure our toys come from safe environments. When founded in 2004, Oompa was a family held California corporation. In May 2007, Oompa was moved to Madison and continued to grow. In November 2008, we opened our very first retail store in Middleton, WI. The store stocks many of our items and gives local customers the opportunity to see the quality of our products before buying. We also have quite a few special events at the store, so be sure to stop and check it out! |
