PhilosophyWhat Does Exchanging Some of Your Hard Earned Money at TKG Mean?-Keeps 4 local staff people employed here. -Helps keep the TKG building in good shape and a contribution to the streetscape. -Adds income to local craftspeople who handle our repairs and maintenance. -Pays our local accountant, banker, and insurance agent. -Covers advertising supporting neighborhood newsletters. -Provides fund raising donations to local schools and other charitable groups. -Pays the taxes that help keep our schools and local government programs running. -Funds the TKG Video Security System that has caught 2 area thieves and two graffiti taggers so far! -By keeping us open adds to that critical mass that makes all of us on the street more successful. -Provides another place for those accidental meetings of neighbors that serves to weave the fabric of our community. |

HistoryThe Kitchen Gallery was founded in Spring of 07. When the founder needed to sell quickly she turned to her Realtor for help, and I, Tom Christensen bought the store. This was in October 2007, just as the Nadi Leaves had predicted: http://www.centralmadison.com/india/India_4_Nadi_Leaves.htm. I stumbled into owning a kitchen store, a stumble that tradition has it was predicted 2000 years ago by some holy seers in India. As best I can tell, I am here because it fits perfectly, and its time for me to do work I really love. If there is a more accurate answer, you'll have to go back 2000 years and ask those wise guys. |
