Products

We provide complete window covering service to both residential and commercial customers. Our business is in the second generation of ownership by Hartwigs and we have always stayed loyal to doing business in the Madison area.

Philosophy

Buying locally as much as possible is important so we can contribute to our neighbors success. We are somewhat limited in local sources for our products, but we have always employed local seamstresses and have always purchased window coverings from Graber which has headquarters in Middleton. We purchase lumber and supplies from McCormick Lumber on Milwaukee Street, and frequently patronize local restaurants for breakfast and lunch orders.

History

Our business was started in 1948 by Lee Hartwig, who purchased the window covering department from a painting company. Our first location was on North Street here on the east side and in the 1960's moved to our current location which also housed an upholstery business. Lee's son Jon started working full time after college and purchased the business when Lee retired in 1988. We've loved the Madison area and appreciate the business climate that has given us the opportunity to stay in business all these years and raise our families as well.
