Products

My name is Gage Mitchell and I am your local branding and design specialist. I work with local companies and organizations to help them craft a unique brand identity that will set them apart from competitors and instill loyalty and trust in their audience, clients, and consumers. By providing one-on-one customized service to fit your specific needs, I can guide the creation of your brand to reflect your company's core personality, values, and mission. This will guarantee that you'll get exactly what you want and your customers will find you to be exactly what they need.

If you have a company or service, then you probably need design, and if you need design, I can help you. Whether it's an entire brand, or just a logo, brochure, or website, I have the knowledge and resources to give you a boutique design studio experience, without the high-overhead price tag.

Please check out samples of my work on my website, and if you like what you see, give me a call or shoot me an email.

Philosophy

My wife and I moved to Madison specifically because of the sustainable and local culture that thrives here. Having lived in a handful of other cities and traveled to many distant countries, I've come to appreciate the beauty of local resources and the sustainability they create. The Farmers' Markets, co-ops, and small local restaurants and shops are not just nice options - they are a way of life for me. And by giving up my car and biking everywhere, local becomes my only option because a trip out to the mall or big box stores is too much work. I'm not just a loca-sumer because it's patriotic or to support my neighbors (which are good reasons); I buy local because I know it's often a better product that more often fits my needs, and keeps small, unique companies who care about their impact on the community and world, alive and open.

History

Art is in my genes, and business has been a big part of me since I was starting my own companies in elementary school. I went on to study fine arts with a major in design at Colorado State University where I earned my B.F.A in 2004. I then got my design feet wet at a boutique design studio in Denver before heading out to North Carolina to start a new life with my wife.

In Charlotte, I grew into a senior position at another small design studio, gaining even more experience working with local companies and crafting award-winning brands. During my time there I also held three successive volunteer board positions with AIGA Charlotte (AIGA is the professional association for design), the final being Board Operations Director. At the beginning of 2008, my wife and I sold our condo and decided to live our dream of traveling the world for a year.

When the adventure was ending, we decided to research where our next home would be. Madison's sustainable and local culture brought it to the top of our list, and we landed here in April of 2009, and have loved the decision ever since. Now living and working on Willy Street, and growing the design community in Madison as the AIGA Wisconsin Programming VP, I'm well on my way to making Madison my home city.
