PhilosophyI’ve lived in—or moments from—Madison my entire life. No matter how much I travel, I can’t find a better place to live, in spite of our winters! I’m committed to my community and love to tell newcomers about the best local places to eat, shop, exercise, learn or just people watch. I’ve done volunteer work for the Boys and Girls Club of Madison, Gilda’s Club, The Lussier Teen Center and the Goodman Center. The profits I earn go right back into the local community. I do these things because I have a choice, and I’m grateful for it. |

HistoryI began my design career at a local comic book distribution company, as the (only) production artist for a 300+ page monthly catalog. Not too long after, the company was sold and everyone was laid off. I got a severance package—hooray! But it was very small. Sigh. So I went to work at Mattel’s American Girl doll company, which was known as Pleasant Company back in those days. After working for six years in the marketing communications, catalog and e-commerce departments, I founded shu shu design in April 2002. Eight years later I’m still here, and so are some of my original clients. What a compliment!I have over fourteen years of professional design experience and a life-long love of art and creativity. When I’m not in my office, you might find me cooking the world’s greatest pizza, walking my dogs, taking pictures, strumming a guitar or trying to knit yet another scarf. |
