Products

Pechmann Memorials offers a wide array of stone products and engraving services. While the core of our business is personal memorials, we also offer products including public memorials, pet memorials, building materials, and engravable products for fund-raising and patios. We also supply many builders with real stone house numbers and engraved boulders. The most unique aspect of our business is our heritage and philosophy. We strongly believe that customers need honest businesses that fight to keep industries honest and transparent. We will always give honest advice to every customer even if it can be hard to hear at first. However, in the end it is our love for our trade and desire to truly help our clients that sets us apart from similar businesses.

Philosophy

Buying local is a fundamental of a strong economy. We support our neighbors that serve us because it is what ultimately allows people to purchase the products that we sell. We understand that if a local community cannot offer jobs, it is more difficult for its population to afford the goods and services they may need. Without these goods and services, people will leave and go to where they can get them. Unfortunately, the stone industry is found in concentrations centered around quarries and with no quarries in our immediate area, buying local for many of our products is difficult. The nearest quarry that we can buy from is in Wausau, WI. For all the landscaping products and others available, however, we try to spend our money as locally as possible.

History

Pechmann Memorials was started in 1971 by Kurt Pechmann. Kurt was born in Germany in 1928 and served in WWII. Following his capture in Italy, he came to the US as a POW. He worked in factories and on farms in Wisconsin during the war. After the war, he was sent back to Germany where he married a girl he met during the war and returned to America. A couple of years after his return to America, Kurt got back into stone-cutting, his trade prior to his drafting for the war. Kurt used his trade to honor the people whom he felt he owed a great debt, American veterans. He built numerous memorials to honor their service and sacrifice. Shortly before his passing in 2009, he was able to be a part of the dedication of our largest memorial to date, the Dane County Veterans Memorial
