Products

Catalyst is an active apparel and footwear store for men and women. With brands unique to Madison and some old favorites like Saucony, Mizuno, Mountain Hardwear, Merrell, Moving Comfort, Icebreaker and more. We cater to people who are just starting to exersise as well as the seasoned athlete. If you like to run, walk, bike, do yoga, or just work out at the gym we have something for you.

Philosophy

We hope to establish relationships with our customers. We hope that their experience is more than simply coming to our store to find the proper workout gear. Locally owned businesses are more likely to spend time getting to know their customers. We hope to get input from our customers regarding products they would like to see us carry. As a couple - we love local businesses and restaurants - and have had many great dining and shopping experiences in our neighborhood!

History

Our business just opened on September 4, 2010. Gail Stintzi and her husband Jim, own the business. Gail runs the day to day operations - and came up with the idea of an "active" store when she began exercising after years of debilitating migraine headaches. Frustrated with the selection available at many stores - she decided to create a unique shopping experience for people beginning or continuing to exercise. Gail and her friendly staff try to create a fun shopping environment coupled with fashion forward pieces and great technical advice.
