ProductsWe are a casual, European-inspired neighborhood brasserie located on Madison's historic Monroe Street. Our concept is truly simple. It was born out of the passion for the French Joie de Vivre developed over years spent in France and Belgium, and combines our love of simple, unpretentious food paired with Belgian beer and noble wines. We serve lunch and dinner daily, and Sunday evenings. Signature menu items available include frites, cheeseboards with local artisinal cheeses, Brasserie V Belgian salad, and our V Burger. The dinner menu always includes steak-frites, moules et frites, and duck. The rest of our menu varies seasonally, and you will often find one of Chef Rob’s unique daily specials on the chalkboard. We also offer an extensive hand-picked selection of over 150 world-class beers, including 60+ Belgians, and 14 tap options. A full wine list featuring mostly European wines is also available either by the glass or by the bottle. |

PhilosophyOur chef Rob Grisham and his staff prepare our food from scratch, using fresh, high-quality ingredients. While we are inspired globally, we source locally as much as we can. We work with many local farmers and artisan cheese makers, building long-term relationships to provide the freshest and highest quality products from all over Southern Wisconsin. Some of our current local sources include Fountain Prairie Farms, Potter's Crackers, Bleu Mont Dairy, Hook's Cheese, Garden To Be, among others. |

HistoryMatt and Andrea Van Nest opened Brasserie V in 2007 because of their passion for Belgian beer, French wine, and the wonderful neighborhood cafes in Paris. Our goal has always been to uphold the true definition of a brasserie: an unpretentious restaurant, tavern, or the like, that serves drinks, especially beer, and simple or hearty food. Our wonderful staff will do their best to bring that philosophy to you on every visit. Please stop in and see us today! |
