We do a large portion of our sales as deliveries, but also offer dine in and carry out options; our Madison-East location even offers a full service dine in restaurant and bar with banquet facilities.We also offer catering for events, large or small. PhilosophySomething that's always on our minds is the effect our business has on the transportation of goods from our suppliers. We must rely on some ingredients coming from far-flung places, but those things that we can reasonably procure from local suppliers we do, and in ever growing quantities.Our most recent buy-local initiative involved our beer selection at our Atwood Ave. location. We had been selling beer mostly by the bottle without regard for where it was sourced. Looking into our suppliers, we realized that not only did buying glass bottles filled with heavy liquid from halfway around the world make for a huge transportation footprint, but made no sense in light of the world's best beers being produced here in Wisconsin. So we took the most logical step we knew of, remove all but a few of our bottled beers and replace them with local keg beer, 16 taps in total. Now instead of shipping tons of glass and water across the world every year, we draw from our local sources. We also try our best to source local products in season, most notably: tomatoes, mushrooms, eggs and cucumbers. We partner with nearby suppliers to limit their fuel consumption for the delivery of our goods. Our thoughts on buying local can best be summed up with the notion that food just doesn't get any better sitting in the back of a truck, and what we have in South Central Wisconsin is the best the world has to offer anyway. |

HistoryGlass Nickel Pizza Co. was founded in 1997 by Brian Glassel and Tim Nicholson. From the beginning we have been highly motivated to not only give back to the communities that we serve, but also to try to offer up the best food in town at fair prices. We believe that we are only as good as the food we serve. |
