ProductsKitchen Hearth is known throughout the Madison area for its extraordinarily high quality food. The primary reason for this reputation, and what distinguishes us from our competitors, is our focus on producing our menu items from "scratch".After 20 years in business, Kitchen Hearth services has evolved into four categories: corporate/personal catering, corporate cafeteria services, high volume food production for wholesale accounts, and a downtown Madison deli located at 114 East Main Street. |

PhilosophyLocally owned businesses like Kitchen Hearth that are not subject to rules and regulations imposed by a distant owner can be more responsive to the customer, make changes quickly to accommodate a changing market, and have freedom to select/support local vendors. They can also freely decide to support local community organizations and reinvest profits back into their business for growth and local job creation. Kitchen Hearth remains strongly committed to all these business practices. |

HistorySusan E. Alt founded Kitchen Hearth in 1988. She developed the business concept and opened the first location in a small kitchen/retail store in Madison's far west side specializing in preparing quality homemade food and bakery products. The business gradually expanded into providing catering services for family events. Experiencing success in this market, Kitchen Hearth began aggressively marketing to area businesses, government agencies, trade associations, education and medical institutions and currently serves over 700 entities from this broad market base. In 2007, Kitchen Hearth relocated its production kitchen/bakery to a 8000 square foot facility designed to meet USDA sanitation standards for wholesale food production. This facility enables Kitchen Hearth to provide better services to our existing customers and to serve a new market as a supplier of wholesale food products to local restaurants and wholesale distributors. |
