ProductsThe Coffee Room offers a beautiful respite to those looking to enjoy quality beverages and food. We serve artisan roasted coffee from Kickapoo Roasters, an array of breads, pastries and quiche from local bakeries; soups, salads and sandwiches featuring Door County smoked whitefish, chicken from Pecatonica Farms, and beef and ham from Fountain Prairie Farms. We also offer a selection of micro beers, wines by the glass and bottle, Sprecher soda, juices and fruit smoothies. The Coffee Room has a schedule of live music, rotating art shows and we provide Wi-Fi. Best of all is our view of the Monona Bay off of Bernie's Beach and an outdoor deck. PhilosophyFrom our inception, the Coffee Room has taken great pride in the quality and choices made in our food and beverages. We encourage sustainability and biodiversity through our appreciation and consumption of the region's seasonal, organic artisan food; and adamently support those who produce it. Whenever possible we buy from our neighboring farmers and producers. It is truly a neighborhood of friends you will find here. We strive to make everyone comfortable whether you are reading, knitting, dining, meeting with associates, having a family get together, or stopping off the bike path. |

HistoryLocated in one of Madison's older neighborhoods, "Bayside", we have an amazing view of the lake and the downtown skyline. Brian Vandewalle started his city planning business in our storefront that originally housed the neighborhood grocery. His business grew and he moved down the street. His wife Susan, an ardent weaver, took over the space in 1995 and "Lakeside Fibers" was born. In 2001, the new addition was put on. Four years later the Coffee Room was developed with a strong affiliation to the Washington Hotel and Washington Island at the tip of Door County. Our story continues to grow as we develop and respond to our customers and neighbors. |
