HistoryMadison Originals was founded in August 2003 after Marcia and Patrick O'Halloran, of Lombardino's and The Old Fashioned, visited Kansas City and discovered a local restaurant movement there, Kansas City Originals. Together a small group of local restaurateurs successfully started the association with over 40 member restaurants. The dining public in the Madison area showed phenomenal support for the organization at the first group event, held at Quivey's Grove in October 2003. Since then our organization has worked toward our goals of joint marketing, fundraising and public education through a variety of events each year. Madison Originals hosts an annual Golf outing each fall, founded the Dueling Chefs competition at the Madison Food and Wine Show, was instrumental in bringing Restaurant Week to Madison, and raises donations for area charitable organizations through events and fundraisers each year. |
