Products

Locally owned and operated since 2000, The Sow's Ear is the Midwest's first combined yarn store and coffee shop! The warm and inviting atmosphere of The Sow's Ear is the perfect place to relax, sip a drink and grab a bite to eat while knitting your next masterpiece or just relaxing with friends. Our friendly staff prides itself on providing excellent service, camaraderie and knitting assistance if needed. We love our customers and look forward to meeting you!

Philosophy

We choose to buy locally sourced goods because we are very involved in the community.  By supporting local farmers and artists we understand that we are supporting our community. We try to sell as many local products as we can, from Ancora coffee to locally made baked goods.  We also buy yarn from local mills and sell bags and jewelry made by local designers.

History

We opened in October 2000, and in 2007 we switched owners.  Ever since the beginning, The Sow’s Ear has promoted buying local, and that sentiment has held strong even when the shop changed hands.
