ProductsWe supply a complete line of beermaking and winemaking equipment and supplies to local brewers. In addition, we planted 5 acres of grapes in 1976 to supply local grapes to winemakers. Our employees are enthusiastic and knowledgeable home brewers and are ardent about spreading the craft. Known as a local home brew shop that works hard to serve its customers, we also pride ourselves on helping beginning brewers as well as our experienced customers. We have been in business 35 years and continue to learn and grow and enjoy our hobby. |

PhilosophyWe understand that buying local and giving local are closely intertwined. Our shop and vineyard have served Dane County residents in their pursuit of one of the oldest human needs, supplying mirth and pleasure, through their own created beer and wine, for over 30 years. It's a local connection that connects to human history thousands of years old. |

HistoryThe Wine & Hop Shop was started in the fall of 1972. Initially called The Winemaker Shop, it was located for several years on W. Mifflin St. In the late 70's we moved the shop to State St where we enjoyed many years providing beermaking and winemaking supplies to local brewers. In 1997 we moved to Monroe St to increase our space and keep our neighborhood roots. We also started Mitchell Vineyard in 1976 near Oregon, WI to provide grapes for local winemakers. The vineyard continues to expand and now features 10 varieties of wine and eating grapes to Wisconsin wineries and winemakers. Each September customers are able to pick their own grapes to turn into their own delicious wine. |
