HistoryIn 1994, a group of Madison banking professionals gathered to discuss the need for a locally-owned, independent bank dedicated to serving the needs of individuals and businesses in the Madison community. By focusing on local decision-making, outstanding personal service and deep roots in the community, they hoped to offer consumers a bank focused on people, not profits. Their dreams came to fruition on October 9, 1995, when Capitol Bank officially opened for business – in a trailer on the grounds of the construction site! In May of the following year, the Capitol Bank operations and staff moved into the beautiful new building, and we’ve been at this location ever since. |
