The Holiday Fantasy in Lights is held mid-November through New Years each year at Olin-Turville Park in downtown Madison. 30+ lighted holiday LED displays are illuminated through out the park each evening. Come on down for this Drive Thru Holiday experience. Admission is free, donations are apprieciated. NECA and IBEW put on the event each year with support from the local business community who sponsor various displays. At the exit you will recieve candy canes and a christmas card. Go to www.fantasyinlights.com for more information. This event has been enjoyed by many.... families, seniors, and even pets since 1989.

Philosophy

This event has made a commitment to not only buy locally, but also to go green. Last year we were finally able to convert the entire show to LED bulbs. We also are now building all displays locally and buying supplies locally when available. It is the Madison business community that assists NECA and IBEW to help keep the event free for all to enjoy and we like to keep the sponsorship and donated dollars in our community. This event has always been intended as a gift to the Madison area. While the event is not always financially able to make charitiable donations (as has been done in years past) we can give back by keeping our spent dollars local.

History

The LMCC trust was formed in 1989, as a partnership between the National Electrical Contractors Association NECA and the International Brotherhood of Electrical Workers IBEW Local 159. One of the main functions of this committee is the Holiday Fantasy in Lights. This is a project the Contractors and the Local 159 Employees are both proud to be a part of. It allows them both the ability to use their skills and services to provide a unique gift to Madison. In the late 80s a Union Electrician had the idea to light up displays for a holiday event-taking display ideas from Children's coloring books-we still approach the design-build process the same way today.
