Nedrebo's is Madison's only locally owned formal wear company. Our involvement in the Madison community includes membership in the Madison chapter of the National Association of Wedding Professionals, the Wedding Showcase Group, Downtown Madison Inc, and Dane Buy Local.

 

Support of local organizations reflects our commitment to the community. We enthusiastically support the Madison Symphony, Wisconsin Chamber Orchestra, UW Band, Wisconsin Public Television, Wisconsin Singers, and Frostiball—to name a few. We donate annually to United Way of Dane County and countless local charity events, including Red Ribbon Affair. We are also pleased to support local schools and community theater productions. In the early 1940's, Kristoffer and Lucille Nedrebo opened a small tailor shop on State Street in Madison. Within just a few years, they expanded their thriving business to include tuxedo rentals for UW fraternity parties. Initially they rented only black tuxedos, but soon increased their inventory to include white dinner jackets.

 

When Kristoffer and Lucille retired in 1979, the company was purchased by the current owners, a Madison couple. Nedrebo's now ships out of a 48,000 square foot warehouse on Verona Road, with 5 retail stores in Madison and Janesville. The company supplies quality formalwear for every occasion to 8 retail stores in 2 states, and wholesales to over 500 bridal and fine menswear stores throughout the Midwest.
