HistoryWhen you think of the largest landscape company in Wisconsin, it’s hard to believe it was started by a 12 year old boy who wanted to go to Boy Scout camp. Our founder, Lee Bruce, had to use the name of his father “L.H. Bruce & Son” in the company name, because it was difficult to convince prospective customers that a 12 year old boy was capable of taking on landscaping jobs that grossed thousands of dollars, it also solved legal problems in signing contracts. Over time, Lee’s lawn service company gradually became landscape maintenance; garden plowing became fine grading, seeding, mulching, sodding, and rough grading. Crews were added for residential and commercial landscape projects. Then came golf course construction & maintenance, irrigation, ponds & water features, a retail store, a 500 acre nursery and much more. |
