Products and Services:
Since 2001 Ian's Pizza has been serving downtown Madison with unusual slices of pizza and fresh salads, available to eat in-store, take out, or have delivered.

The original Ian's at 319 Frances Street is the perfect place to grab a bite before a Kohl Center event, after a late night out, or anytime you are near the UW Madison campus.

The Ian's at 115 State Street is a great choice for dinner before or after an event at the Overture Center, when visiting the Madison Children's Museum, or anytime you are at the Capitol Square. With an expanded seating area and a newly remodeled dining area, it is a great place to sit and plan your next State Street destination.

Both locations feature local produce, Wisconsin cheeses, and meats from Jordandal Farms, along with whatever else looks especially tasty at the Farmers' Market that week. In the mood for a sweet snack? Brownies made fresh from scratch at our sister business Batch Bakehouse using Belgian chocolate, local eggs and local creamery butter are found at both locations.

Ian's is not only great bar-time food, but great food ANY time, for everyone.
Philosophy:
Everyone knows that local food will always be healthier & more ecologically sound than food that's grown thousands of miles away, picked too early, and artificially ripened with gases.

On the other hand, we don't have many avocado groves around here to provide us with key ingredients for our Guacamole Burrito slice. But we do what we can - and you might be surprised at how much that is, even in a Wisconsin winter.

Ian's uses a variety of locally-sourced products and is always on the lookout for ways to work more closely with local growers and producers. To that end, our Madison restaurants have partnered with Buy Fresh, Buy Local (a project of the awesome REAP Food Group).

Year round, the ham on our Chicken Cordon Bleu slice comes from Jordandal Farms. We use a wide variety of products from Organic Valley and all the cheese we use is made here in Wisconsin.

In the summer, the salad bars are comprised almost completely of local ingredients like fresh roasted sweet corn, sliced roasted beets, heirloom tomatoes, and strawberries straight from the Farmers' Market.

We believe that buying and eating locally-sourced food shouldn't be reserved only for special occasion restaurants. At Ian's your whole family can afford to go out to dinner and eat local!
History:
After he graduated from college, Ian Gurfield had a vision to open his own late-night pizza place, serving slices to hungry college students. But where? He traveled the country for months looking for just the right spot. Upon landing in Madison in January of 2001 he realized that he had found exactly what he was looking for.

Ian's Pizza by the Slice at 319 N. Frances Street opened on October 31, 2001. Three years later he opened a second restaurant, Ian's Pizza on State, half a block from the capital at 115 State Street. In July of 2008, Ian's opened its third store in Wrigleyville in Chicago and on New Year's Eve of 2009, the fourth Ian's opened at the corner of North & Prospect in Milwaukee.

Guess he knew what he was doing when he decided on Madison after all.
