Products and Services:
The Jewelers Workshop has been Madison's first choice for one of a kind custom jewelry for over 40 years. Our clients work one-on-one with gemologists, designers and jewelers, who sketch, carve waxes, cast, finish, polish and set stones all on site.
As a family business for over 40 years, and as long-term Madison residents, we have grown with the local community. We are supported daily by our customer's from all over Southern Wisconsin. We feel it is essential to return the favor, by frequenting local businesses and working with local suppliers. Investing in the community is the greatest investment a business can make.
Richard Armstrong started making jewelry during his years in Madison as an undergraduate, both out of interest and self-preservation. While taking a heavy load of science and math courses his creative outlet was expressed in jewelry and art classes. In 1968 he answered an ad for a complete jewelry shop for only $300! The Jewelers Workshop was then started in the basement of a shoe store on State Street. After being so successful, the next move was to around the corner to Gorham Street, a 440 square foot former garage facing the wrong way against traffic. By 1978 the Jewelers Workshop moved to 306 State Street, where we stayed for over 25 years. In September of 2005 we started a new chapter in the Workshop¿s history by relocating to N.Sherman Avenue. See you at the shop!
