Philosophy:
Supporting local businesses has been at the core of Marigold Kitchen's way of doing business since its inception. One of the great benefits of operating a restaurant in the heart of midwestern farming country is access to an abundance of fresh, locally sourced foods. Marigold is proud to partner with a large number of local farms and distributors to serve food that is grown or produced in the Madison area, Wisconsin and neighboring states. Building strong relationships with local vendors is a vital part of Marigold's commitment to strengthen the community.
History:
Marigold Kitchen owners Phillip Hurley and John Gadau built their careers in San Francisco, Los Angeles, and Chicago before joining forces and opening up their first venture in downtown Madison. Marigold opened its doors back in 2001 and quickly became an institution amongst capitol square restaurants. Hurley and Gadau's vision was to create a vibrant, urban dining establishment and serve fresh, from-scratch food with the goal to unite community members and tourists alike who are passionate about eating well in an upbeat environment.
