As a non-profit cooperative, we support our local community organizations, local charities and businesses. In addition, we are active members of the Madison Area Chapter of Credit Unions.
In 1930, a group of federally employed people state chartered the credit union. The original name: Madison Federal Employees Credit Union was changed in 1934. Because the credit union volunteers had an office located in the Post Office Bldg. on Martin Luther King Blvd., the members decided to re-name the credit union. At that time, Post Office Credit Union was limited to serving only federal employees and postal employees living and or working in Dane County. In 2002, Post Office Credit Union became a community chartered credit union and could serve anyone living or working in Dane County plus all Wisconsin postal workers and their families. Today, this community credit union serves over 4,200+ members.
