Products and Services:
Schuster¿s Playtime Farm offers challenging mazes, loads of unique play structures, pig racing, gem stone mining and a beautiful hayride for our guests to relax and enjoy. After all the daytime fun, the farm transforms to the fall nightlife. Which would you choose a relaxing walk under the stars through the corn maze or a blood-curdling excursion through our Haunted Forest? Join us for a day or night of fun and adventure and try out our new bakery!
Our philosophy on why we buy local is to help support our community. We are a 5th generational farm from right here in Dane county.  Our family would not have been here this long without the support of our fellow community members. Our children mark the sixth generation of Schusters farming in Dane County. Buying local can be likened to the strength and beauty of a web. By weaving a series of close connections between businesses, communities build a web of encouragement and support that cultivates pride, freedom to pursue dreams, and business longevity.
In the spring of 1994, after three years of varying ventures, including growing tobacco, and pot-bellied pig and miniature donkey breeding, Don planted 1/3 acre of pumpkins¿the crop he grew himself as a youngster and sold door-to-door using his little red wagon. After several years of adding different fall produce and decorations, Theresa convinced a reluctant Don to build a hay wagon. We started school tours that year and have been too busy to ever look back! Now in our 17th season, we are working more on the farm than off. Don will conclude his time working at UW-Madison in 2011, except for teaching the occasional farm short-course class or consulting as an ag-economist on specialty projects. Theresa continues to love working part-time for Madison Schools as an occupational therapist. Our three kids get more involved in the farm business every year. Hugh has advanced to doing ¿manly¿ work. He gets involved by desire and/or force in literally every project on the farm.  Sarah is our saving grace in the kitchen. She has named our farm bakery¿Sarah¿s Sweet Shoppe & Bakery. Sarah and Christian now share the animal chores.  And this year, Christian will be the Main Man running Christian¿s Gemstone Mining Company.  Now, of course, we have Herman ¿
