Products and Services:
The Grumpy Troll Brew Pub, Restaurant and Pizzeria takes pride in offering 12 handcrafted beers made with a variety of hops and grains grown locally and world-wide. Several of our ales and lagers feature Wisconsin hops and honey produced in Southwest Wisconsin and are brewed with the power of the sun via solar panels on the roof of our in-house brewery.

The Brew Pub menu features locally-raised beef and we offer seasonal specials teaming with locally-grown produce. Our Brats made locally with our own beer at Bavaria Sausage.

We use our spent grain from the brewing process in our pizza crusts and what we do not use we donate to local farmers.

We also offer a gluten-free menu. In the summer, enjoy our outdoor beer garden seating.
At the Grumpy Troll, we strive to provide our guests with a quality experience from customer service to atmosphere to food. We start with quality locally grown ingredients and are proud to say that we know where it came from and how it was raised! Several of our seasonal vegetables are provided by area farmers and gardeners. We're also excited to provide an alternative to a beef burger with our Walnut Burger made at the Trempealeau Hotel in northern Wisconsin.
Buying local helps strengthen our relationship with our community, and we love supporting small businesses and farms in our area. The Grumpy Troll also donates frequently to non-profit organizations throughout the state of Wisconsin.
The Grumpy Troll now does business in what used to be the Mount Horeb Creamery and Cheese Company. Butter and cheese were produced in the building for nearly 90 years. In 1998, after sitting vacant for several years, the building was remodeled into the Mount Horeb Pub and Brewery. More remodeling in 2000 allowed room for a 10 barrel brew house, indoor and outdoor seating and a full menu. In 2007, the 2nd floor of the building was transformed into the Pizzeria featuring a full service bar, arcade area and booths overlooking the downtown area. In early 2012, Annette and Jack Slocum purchased The Grumpy Troll Brew Pub and truly ushered in the buy local mentality that makes it a success.
