Yahara Bay Distillers is in a new location in Fitchburg, Wisconsin serving craft cocktails, craft Wisconsin beers, and regional wine.  We operate a fun, creative, and flexible craft distillery and public house including an art gallery and an event space for live music and private parties.

Lead Bartender Duties and Responsibilities

The Lead Bartender plans and supervises daily operational activities of the tasting room (bar) and event space.


Thursday 2 pm - 11 pm

Friday 2 pm - 11 pm

Saturday 10 am - 6 pm

As needed for special events


Job Duties and Expectations

  • Create and maintain collaborative, creative, innovative, accountable and decisive team work environment
  • Conduct interviews and vetting processes of potential new staff
  • Empower employees through delegation of duties and training in order to strengthen the team, maintain high morale, and maximize productivity 
  • Schedule staff according to changes in customer demand
  • Allocate daily tasks to appropriate staff and ensure tasks are accomplished in a timely manner
  • Maintain cleanliness and standards of space
  • Maintain PARS for bar, complete orders for distributors and stock bar with all items necessary for service
  • Seek to optimize profitability by utilizing available resources efficiently and effectively
  • Track the sales of all types of drinks including beers, cocktails, wines, spirits and beverages and report to management for analysis and discussion
  • Proactively communicate strategic plans including revenue and profit targets; and provide after action reports outlining areas of improvement and financial results
  • Assist the Event Sales Manager with the final client meeting prior to signing a contract to best determine needs of the client and Yahara Bay FOH operations; and to ensure inclusion of those needs in the contract
  • Communicate with event sales manager and vendors to ensure that all terms of a contract are met and guests receive the highest quality service and overall experience
  • Seek formal and informal training and education in the fields related to bar management or administrative supporting roles
  • Develop and maintain a current understanding of industry best practices
  • Assist in creation of SOP's, use SOP's for training and maintain consistency in the culture at Yahara Bay
  • Seek knowledge of business management principles (budgeting, strategic planning, resource allocation and human resources)
  • Demonstrate knowledge of Key Performance Indicators (KPIs) and marketing techniques for FOH/Event Operations/Bar management
  • Manage multiple projects simultaneously
  • Demonstrate strong communication skills to include tact, initiative, and professionalism
  • Demonstrate consistent problem solving and critical thinking capabilities
