The Berkeley Running Company came to be by runners who have a passion for fitness and living a healthy lifestyle. Being able to share this passion through either education pertaining to running and walking or our level of synergy, is important to us. The Greater Madison Area has much to offer in leading a vigorous everyday life with regards to fitness. We here at Berkeley are proud to share our enthusiasm and knowledge of the sport.

Why Berkeley? David has always been fond of the fitness opportunities found in the Bay Area. Therefore, the thought of bringing California to Madison was approached when developing a theme and name for the running company. Madison has often been known as the Berkeley of the Midwest. We are excited to finally stamp this thought by giving our company the name, The Berkeley Running Company.

Buying Local

David and Don, owners of the Berkeley Running Company, were born and raised in the Madison area. They are proud to be able to give back to the area as so many have been supportive to them during their years of promoting fitness and the zest of a healthy life style. At the Berkeley Running Company we strive to support community events and fundraisers. Hence our motto: Your Town. Your Neighborhood. Your Store.

History

Our business offers products and services for runners and walkers of all abilities. Our staff wants to attract people who are just beginning to learn to run as we want people to know that the Berkeley Running Company is the place where you can start. Our staff does not want to dissuade anyone from running because they are not that good. Beginning runners can get the advice and support they need to achieve their running goals.

Our store carries all the leading brands of shoes such as Asics, Adidas, Brooks, Nike, Pearl Izumi, Mizuno, Puma, Reebok, Saucony, and New Balance. Clothing is available from companies such as Moving Comfort, Craft, Sport Hill, Louis Garneau, Sugoi, and CW-X. In addition to things like Timex, Garman, and Polar sport watches, we also have nutritional supplements. However, our store's primary stock in trade is support for our customers.
