Buying Local

Having signed up for two years as members of Dane Buy Local, we have encouraged our fellow business owners in Stoughton to do the same. Communities like ours stand to benefit from supporting each other, both business to business and on the retail level.  We are also have gotten involved with the Historic Stoughton Business Alliance which is promoting arts and retail in our lovely community strengthening Stoughton's business community.  But there's more to our commitment than that. We have participated in the Green Online Auctions, use local vendors whenever possible and value the chance to share ideas with other independent business owners.

History

Before Badfish Creek Clothing opened at 220 W Main St (right on the bridge) on October 18, 2007, Stoughton had been without a men's clothing store for four years. Gretel and Preston Irving opened Badfish Creek Clothing Co.  because one day, while searching for a men's shirt in Stoughton, one could not be found.  Instead of complaining about it, they turned around opened a clothing store that carries both Men and Women clothing.  You can find clothes that are both business casual to weekend comfortable from lines such as Woolrich, Gramicci, Life is Good, and Tribe.
